Muva means to move in Portuguese. Here the idea is to move the position for urban disadvantaged adolescent girls and young women (AG&YW) in Mozambique to have enhanced capacity and agency, and to make use of decent economic opportunities in an increasingly supportive environment.
MUVA is a five-year development cooperation programme in Mozambique, financed by the British cooperation agency DFID and implemented by Oxford Policy Management. NCG Sweden has been subcontracted to work with gendered recruitment procedures with the specific aim to achieve quick wins: 4 to 5 different recommendations to introduce and evaluate recruitment criteria over a reduced period to measure the outcome. NCG is cooperating with the CBE Southern Africa, a recruitment and search firm, and with the International Client Standard Bank. The two procedures are different.
