We are happy to announce that our consultants are conducting an evaluation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) “Women in Business” programme. EBRD started the Women in Business programme in 2014 to “promote women entrepreneurship and women’s participation in business”. The programme finished in 2021 and focused on supporting women in the Western Balkan and Eastern Partnership countries. Within the scope of the evaluation, four countries (two in each region) were chosen as concrete case studies: Georgia, Serbia, Armenia and Kosovo.
Research has shown that female entrepreneurship promotes job creation, societal development, as well as female empowerment both at home and in society at large. Women tend to invest in their children’s health and education with the resources they have, so investing in women’s economic empowerment has an overall positive ripple effect on society both today and in the future.
