Realising the need to enhance the mainstreaming of gender equality in development cooperation, in the context of multidimensional crises, challenges and backlash worldwide, the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) has entered into a contract with NCG and hera for gender equality expertise and support. Drawing from our long experience of providing gender expertise to Sida, we are thrilled to be working with another Nordic donor agency to strengthen their gender know-how, resources and tools.
The assignment aims at internal capacity strengthening and resource development within Norad, engaging with Norad’s Gender Section in the Department of Human Development as well as other Departments and gender focal points in relevant sectors. Specifically, this entails:
- Providing an external, independent view of Norad’s ongoing work for gender equality
- Increasing access to current and tested gender equality knowledge and resources relevant for Norad, Norwegian ministries and embassies
- Developing a strategy and tools to support the integration of gender equality considerations and initiatives in and across programmes and projects, covering Norad’s key thematic areas.
The consultant team includes Suzana Zivkovic (Team Leader), Anja Taarup Nordlund, Jenine Jaradat, Mattias Törnell, and Ulf Färnsveden (Quality Assurer).
