Sida is taking important steps to integrate gender and climate change/environment more in their work and support globally. In August 2016 Sida had a 2-day workshop for Sida gender and environmental focal points from a range of Sida embassies as well as from key partners.
The NCG Gender Global Help Desk to Sida participated, represented by Anja Nordlund, a key expert and staff of Nordic Consulting Group.
At NCG we see a direct effect of the renewed and deepened commitment at Sida, with more call offs to the gender help desk in relation to environmental and climate change projects/programmes/policies and strategies.
The long experience of NCG working with environmental and infrastructure projects spanning the last 30 years, and increasingly with climate change and resilience over the last five years provides important support to the gender help desk to provide adequate and relevant mainstreaming support.
